Sea Moss for Periodic Fever Syndromes: Anti-Inflammatory, NLRP3/IL-1beta/IL-18 Autoinflammatory & Mineral Support

Periodic fever syndromes (autoinflammatory diseases) are a family of innate immune disorders driven by gain-of-function NLRP3 (Cryopyrin-Associated Periodic Syndromes: CAPS/NOMID/MWS/FCAS), MEFV pyrin/IL-1beta mutation (Familial Mediterranean Fever, FMF: ~1/500 in some populations), TNFRSF1A TNF receptor dysfunction (TRAPS), MVK mevalonate kinase (HIDS/MKD), and PSTPIP1/PAPA syndrome, causing NLRP3 inflammasome/ASC/caspase-1/IL-1beta/IL-18 cascade, periodic NF-kB/IL-6/TNF-alpha cytokine storms with fever, serositis (peritonitis, pleuritis, pericarditis), arthritis, rash (amyloidosis risk in FMF/TRAPS). Sea moss fucoidan modulates NF-kB and NLRP3 inflammasome/caspase-1 directly; selenium supports neutrophil/macrophage GPx1/GPx4 burst; omega-3 DHA modulates NLRP3 membrane fatty acid composition and resolvin D1/E1; zinc supports FOXP3+ Treg and pyrin protein function. Colchicine is standard for FMF/TRAPS; IL-1 blockers (anakinra, canakinumab, rilonacept) for CAPS; canakinumab/etanercept for TRAPS.
