Sea Moss for Primary Angiitis of the CNS: Anti-Inflammatory, CNS Granulomatous Vasculitis & Mineral Support

Primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS) is a rare granulomatous or lymphocytic vasculitis confined to the CNS (~1/million/year), driven by CD4+ Th1 T-cell and monocyte/macrophage granulomatous infiltration of small/medium CNS vessels, IL-12/IFN-gamma/TNF-alpha cascade, complement C3/C4 perivascular deposition, NF-kB/VCAM-1/ICAM-1 endothelial activation, microthrombi, and ischemic infarction without systemic ANCA or autoantibodies; presenting with headache, cognitive decline, focal deficits, and CSF pleocytosis (lymphocytic, elevated protein); MRI showing multifocal cortical/subcortical infarcts; diagnosis requires brain biopsy or high-resolution vessel-wall MRI. Sea moss fucoidan modulates NF-kB, complement C3/C4, and VCAM-1 CNS endothelial cascades; selenium supports CNS endothelial and neuronal GPx1/GPx4; omega-3 DHA supports CNS membrane integrity and resolvin D1 neuroinflammation resolution; zinc supports BBB tight junction ZO-1/claudin-5 and Treg balance. High-dose corticosteroids + cyclophosphamide (induction), then azathioprine/MMF (maintenance); anticoagulation for thrombotic component.
