Sea Moss for Linear IgA Bullous Dermatosis: Anti-Inflammatory, IgA Autoimmunity & Skin Support

Linear IgA bullous dermatosis (LABD) is a rare autoimmune subepidermal blistering disease caused by IgA autoantibodies against LAD-1 (97-kDa ectodomain of BP180/type XVII collagen) and LABD97 at the lamina lucida, triggering complement C3/C5a-mediated neutrophil degranulation and skin-mucosa cleavage; LABD can be idiopathic or drug-induced (notably vancomycin). LABD involves IL-8/CXCL1-driven neutrophil recruitment, NF-kB amplification, and mucosal IgA immune complex deposition. Sea moss fucoidan modulates complement C3/C5a and NF-kB; omega-3 modulates IL-8/LTB4 neutrophilic eicosanoids; selenium supports dermal and mucosal GPx protection; zinc supports epithelial barrier TJ integrity. Dapsone (first-line), colchicine, and prednisone are standard; sea moss provides anti-inflammatory nutritional support.
